Building Self-Esteem in Women of all Ages

Women of all ages attended this year’s Women’s Festival 2008 and enjoyed a fun filled day with interesting workshops, speakers, musical entertainment, boutique shopping and delicious food provided by local vendors.

The festival’s goal was to build self esteem and empower our feminine audiences. In this busy world, many women neglect themselves or place themselves last when it comes to family or work. Many lack self esteem and self confidence.

Held at the elegant Village Crean estate in Newport Beach, this year’s festival took empowerment and self-esteem to a new level for all who attended.

Dove Campaign

But the meaning of the day did not end there. It is vitally important we teach women of all ages that self-worth is not related to how they look. In accord with the nationwide Dove Campaign, the festival encouraged women to bring daughters, granddaughters and young friends, ages 8-15, to this event to attend the Dove Fund’s Self-Esteem workshop. We were pleased to provide this important body image workshop at no charge to all young girl participants with a paid adult admission to the festival. Over 45 girls participated, helping us to reach young girls in a powerful way. Many thanks to the Girl Scouts Council of Orange County for endorsing this workshop!

The Dove Campaign Aims to Redefine Beauty and reveals in it’s nationwide ads that “normal” is the new beautiful. We invite you to visit their web site for more information.

Self Esteem for All Women

To coincide with this national campaign, whether physical or non-physical, festival activities centered around themes and activities to build self-confidence and self-esteem. Many young women judge themselves harshly for their size and body relating to prejudices based on race, sexuality, class and physical ability. It was the festival’s objective to dispel this falsehood.

This festival offered every woman, young and old, a chance to look beyond the physical and believe in herself.

Watch this video to feel the beauty of all women and recognize the beautiful woman that you are!
